Youth Group

Our active youth ministry program serves two age groups: 3rd-7th grade and 8th-12th grade.

Meetings are held on Wednesday evenings during the school year. The older youth meet every week and the younger group meets twice a month.

We begin with a home-cooked meal served at 6 pm. The different groups then separate for age-appropriate worship, education, community service, and socializing until 8:00pm.

Meetings Wednesday nights at 6 pm

Volunteer Work

Each year we look forward to participating in several activities, service projects, and conferences.

We love to volunteer at the Webster County Food Pantry, the Knights of Columbus Fish Fries and Tootsie Roll Drives, and the PCCW Rummage Sale.

The older youth also look forward to adopting a family in need during the Christmas season. We spend an afternoon shopping for the family, followed by bowling and pizza.

Conferences

The highlights of each year are the conferences that we attend.

Steubenville Catholic Youth Conference

Steubenville, as we call it, is a high-energy youth conference where thousands of teens are invited to encounter Jesus Christ through dynamic speakers, engaging music, the Sacraments, small group discussions, and fellowship with other teens. It is an outreach of Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio.

These conferences are held across North America, and we are fortunate that two of these conferences are held in Springfield on the Campus of MSU. What an incredible sight to behold: 5000 Catholic teens enjoying a weekend of spiritual growth in JQH arena!

Diocesan Youth Conference

Our diocese has also hosted a weekend youth conference for the past 27 years. High school students attend all weekend, while 7th and 8th graders attend for one day.

It is an excellent opportunity for students across the diocese to connect with each other, worship together, and grow in their faith through inspiring talks from national and local speakers. Teens meet other teens from across the diocese and look forward to reconnecting each year at the conference.
